At Surfline Wavetrak, we do great work from anywhere. This ranges from our headquarters in Huntington Beach, CA, to across the globe. This position is eligible to be based from a variety of locations, including full-time remote.


Over the past few years, there has been a rapid convergence between content-driven experiences and traditional eCommerce platforms. Surfline Wavetrak is exploring ways to further integrate our existing subscription and content products with an immersive eCommerce experience.

The Commerce team’s mission is to help all surfers get the finest gear at the best price with unmatched service. We will do this by providing an engaging experience for surf enthusiasts with expert advice and a curated assortment of the best surf gear available.

As the Product Manager for the Commerce team, you will own the eCommerce roadmap, work with our internal design and marketing teams as well as manage third-party tools and relationships. You will bring a data-driven mindset and drive sales growth and conversion optimization. The candidate must have the ability to be a strategic thinker while be hands-on in an evolving, entrepreneurial environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for the Commerce roadmap: leading strategy, backlog prioritization, planning and execution of product and feature launches to ensure we are producing the best commerce experience possible.
  • Serve as central point-of-contact for the Surfline Store, connecting product, engineering, 3rd party vendors, strategy, marketing, and our content teams to drive engagement and conversion.
  • Analyze market analysis, product metrics, user-market research, and technology trends to determine what initiatives should be prioritized next.
  • Act as primary vendor management contact for select vendors, understand available features and upcoming roadmap improvements, and evaluate new partners as needed.
  • Actively engage in trend-spotting and competitive analysis of the surf retail and eCommerce industries to identify and integrate best practices and innovative technologies to optimize outcomes.
  • Build relationships across the business with key stakeholders, creating buy-in on the roadmap and initiatives.
  • Foster a data and test driven product development culture.

What We're Looking For:

  • 3+ years of relevant product or retail eCommerce experience.
  • Experience with Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento or other SaaS commerce platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to discuss technical, business and user experience tradeoffs and define compelling initiatives; driving them to completion with no assistance.
  • Experience with conversion and site optimization, audience segmentation, SEO, A-B testing, and product analytics.
  • Deep understanding of business, design, technology, software engineering and agile engineering culture.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Entrepreneurial, get it done attitude.

You May Also Have:

  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, SQL-Redshift, Segment, Amplitude, Braze, Wordpress, Zendesk, and Stripe.
  • Passion for ocean-going activities, ideally surfing, fishing, or boating.
