Vice President of Marketing

As VP of Marketing at Surfline/Wavetrak, you will develop a world-class team and global brands that are indispensable to their users. You are directly accountable for the strategy, budgets, teams and processes that relate to driving qualified audience to Wavetrak products and through the conversion funnel, from awareness, to subscription, conversion and retention. You'll be responsible for brand representation and communications, campaigns and events, marketing operations, and product marketing for our core business. You are highly analytical, with a deep understanding of how to leverage various channels and technologies to drive growth in a consumer environment, and you will be expected to bring a creative perspective to our go-to-market strategies for new products.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead marketing strategy/initiatives that ensure all passionate surfers and ocean enthusiasts are familiar with, and using, Wavetrak brands and premium products
  • Build relationships with media and develop creative PR strategies to increase brand awareness
  • Develop an annual calendar of marketable product launches and direct the corresponding executions
  • Develop strategies to maximize the value of registered users and drive eventual conversion and retention
  • Oversee and optimize organic marketing teams and strategies for all organic channels
  • Manage, allocate and optimize corporate marketing budget across paid marketing strategies
  • Manage the customer lifecycle management team's efforts to optimize conversion, retention and drive up customer lifetime value
  • Regularly and transparently report on marketing efforts, always being willing to share failures along with successes
  • Leverage strong leadership skills to build out a high-performing team of organic and growth marketers

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven track record of success in senior consumer digital marketing roles
  • Advanced quantitative skills and ability to look to data to measure performance
  • Extensive experience with customer lifecycle management strategies and tools (
  • Deep knowledge of analytics products/tools (Google Analytics,
  • A strong understanding of performance marketing channels: video, search, social, display, content
  • A natural ability to be both highly analytical and highly creative
  • Excellent people management skills

  • Extensive experience with digital subscription marketing
