Director of Sales

As Director of Sales, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, management and delivery of all B2B advertising sales for the Wavetrak family of brands. The role calls for a strategic and inspirational leader who is capable of pioneering and growing recurrent revenue streams with both endemic and non-endemic partners, and aligning those partner objectives with Surfline's primary business objective which is to grow subscriptions. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, adept manager and creative problem solver with deep knowledge of the digital media and monetization landscape and have established relationships with decision makers inside and outside the surf industry.

What You'll Do:

  • Unlock B2B advertising revenue through the planning and execution of Wavetrak's B2B sales business
  • Help develop brand partnerships that drive B2C subscription revenues  
  • Directly manage the sales and ad operations teams to effectively deliver against goals
  • Develop sales opportunities by combining disparate capabilities and assets to solve B2B client needs 
  • Align partner objectives with Surfline's primary product and business objectives around subscriber growth
  • Drive revenue growth from endemic and non-endemic verticals in the US and globally
  • Conceptualize and develop marketing materials for distribution that promote Wavetrak's B2B competencies
  • Work with B2B monetization sellers to prospect, develop and qualify new business, clients and partnerships
  • Build and maintain brand and agency relationships through meetings, events and client entertainment
  • Work with various internal teams to develop new solutions to non-endemic brands and advertisers consistent with Surfline's product and subscription goals
  • Drive strategy and prioritization in responding to client interest, RFPs and developing solutions in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Lead sales operations to ensure customer success and retention
  • Note: this role will require travel to brand, agency and client sites

What We're Looking For:

  • A student and fan of advertising technology
  • Strong command of the digital, digital video, OTT, streaming, social media, and digital advertising spaces with an emphasis on mobile and native app experiences
  • Demonstrated business development, prospecting, relationship building, pitching and negotiation skills
  • Extensive experience planning and leading sellers to grow business and hit sales goals
  • Extensive experience creating, pitching, closing and delivering customer advertising and sponsorship solutions
  • Deep relationships with key decision makers at agencies, endemic and non-endemic brands a plus
  • Command of PowerPoint, Keynote or other presentation tools and skills for the purposes of communicating and distilling ideas and solutions
  • Ability to deliver timely and accurate sales forecasts

You May Also Have:

  • Experience in the surf or marine industry
  • Experience with ad tech, video and OTT media services
