At Surfline Wavetrak, we do great work from anywhere. This ranges from our headquarters in Huntington Beach, CA, to across the globe. This position is eligible to be based from a variety of locations in New Zealand, including full-time remote.

Summary:

Surfline Wavetrak in New Zealand is a moving towards a significant period of growth and we need an exemplary and dynamic marketing professional to support us through this growth and beyond. As the Marketing Lead you will be responsible for ingesting the cross channel strategies (between Growth, Performance and Brand) and regionalizing them for the New Zealand surf audience AND bring forward marketing strategies and ideas that will be unique to the New Zealand surfer, based on your knowledge of the industry. You will be able to do this through your solid marketing experience, as well as your experience in the surfing industry, and as a passionate surfer yourself. You will play a critical role in defining and building the Surfline brand in the New Zealand market. Ideally, you will be an entrepreneurial marketer and content creator with confidence to suggest and implement strategies. You will use your experience in digital marketing, campaign execution, marketing strategy, and brand development, to execute brand growth strategies and deliver on KPI's that map to corporate growth objectives. You will be able to talk to the marketing strategies in this region on a company-wide level, and how they are contributing to the broader growth in New Zealand.

What You'll Do:

  • Plan and execute on all key cross-channel marketing initiatives for the NZ region.
  • Bring forward marketing strategies and ideas that will be unique to the New Zealand surfer, based on your knowledge of the industry.
  • Develop and own the execution of the NZ Marketing Headline Calendar, working closely with product, content, design and other cross functional teams to develop and deliver campaigns and product news, driving excitement for our brands, sub-brands, and key product features.
  • Work with cross-functional departments to develop NZ specific surf content.
  • Oversee the production of all campaign material from on-product and external positioning, advertising, media, and events where it is required to be regionalized for NZ.
  • Be able to constantly review and assess global marketing programs and ensure they are viable and will be successful in the NZ region.
  • Work with the strategy team to maintain strong market intelligence, keeping up to date on consumer and industry trends, and making recommendations for changes to our own strategies.
  • Use your surf industry experience and passion for surfing to deliver an authentic experience to the NZ surfer.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in the digital consumer subscription or e-commerce space.
  • Experience in NZ market and delivering exemplary marketing to the region.
  • Experience building and executing multi-channel campaigns that drive subscriber growth.
  • Experience collaborating with engineers, product managers, data scientists-BI people, and designers to deliver marketing strategies.
  • Experience in building brand awareness and equity.
  • Creative and strong in developing messaging concepts and strategies for customer communications.
  • Content creation experience.
  • Knowledge of the surf industry, its lifestyle and culture.
